Chapter Two – Knowing Who You Are

    Chapter Two

The greatest cure for approval addiction is the knowledge of who are in Christ
We are joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17)
We share his inheritance, righteousness, and holiness
Understand how God sees us through Christ so we can stop caring what people think
Accept yourself and others will being to too
    Right With God
God loves us, not because we did anything to merit his love (Ephesians 1:5)
Being righteous doesn’t mean we are so perfect we have no flaws
It means Jesus’ death on the cross made us righteous
Our sins are completely removed by the blood of Christ
    Be Relaxed In Spirit
Be comfortable spiritually, be at ease
We can do what we want in life with an attitude of ease
God accepts you in Christ and approves of you as his beloved child
    Find Simplicity In Christ
We make believing in God complicated
We must become like little children (Matthew 18:3)
Enter the rest of God and cease weariness (Hebrews 4:10)
Whatever people think of us is between them and God, not our concern
    God Is On Our Side
God is for us and Satan is against us
People’s attitudes towards us can sometimes be inspired by Satan
Don’t agree with that! Resist it
Trying to be perfect will only lead to disappointed because we are imperfect humans
    Don’t Fear Being Needy
Admit your sins and He will cleanse us (1 John 1:9)
Freely admit your faults and admit to God and others
Give God what you are and what you are not
    A New and Living Way
Grace is God’s power free of charge
All is possible with God (Matthew 19:26)
Free from the need to impress others
Jesus never defended himself because He knew the truth about Himself
Everything we do must be done in faith (Romans 14:23)
Be needy – we can do nothing apart from him (John 15:5)
